I'd been wanting a Lifeproof case for my iPhone 5c for months before I bought one. Previously, I had used an Otterbox Defender, but I was dissatisfied that dirt/dust got between the screen cover and the screen and I constantly had to remove the case to clean it. I was also looking for some protection against water.
I bought the Lifeproof nuud case about three months ago. In general, I love the awesome level of protection and the peace of mind that gives me. I have dropped the phone with no negative effects. I have also rinsed the phone under water to clean the covers over the camera lenses and the phone still works beautifully. I never have to remove the case to clean the screen like I did with the Otterbox.
However, there are a few issues that I dislike. First, the hard plastic feel of the case is not as nice as the silicon cover over the Otterbox and it also makes the phone slippery. Since there is no grip between the phone and the surface it's on, I have to be careful where I place the phone in my car so it does not go flying. I've had it drop off surfaces in my house as well (and of course it was protected and undamaged every time).
Also, something about the way the case is constructed makes it impossible for me to successfully use the speakerphone function. My voice is unintelligible to the people I'm speaking to and they have to constantly ask me to repeat myself. The only solution if I can't hold the phone to my ear (like when I'm driving) is to use a headset connected directly to the phone. But there is an adapter cable you need to use to connect the headset to the phone and, although it comes with the case and works fine, I don't always have that adapter with me when I need it.
Bottom line: I love the case. I'd love it more with a silicon outer layer and a solution to the speakerphone issue.
